Since 2003, the student chaplain and deacon at VID Oslo have organised a student trip every autumn semester, focusing on nature and the community. The student trip is normally at the end of August from Thursday to Sunday afternoon.
The destinations vary and have previously been to the river Sjoa near Besseggen mountain, with activities like rafting and mountain hiking, and to Gaustadtoppen with activities such as a guided walk in the footsteps of the World War II heavy water saboteurs and an ascent of Gaustadtoppen. The evenings provide time for social activities and games, dinner, singing and playing music, and other social activities.
Information regarding this year’s trip and participation will be announced in plenty of time before an information session, and there will be a stand with information in the atrium or outside the student café.
Students pay a fee (deductible) for travel, accommodation and some of the food. The various activities such as rafting, guided hill-climbing and roundtrip by bus is to be paid by each participant.
