The course introduces the PhD candidate to what it means to do a PhD in theology and religious studies in the context of VID. There are four focus areas:
Introduction to the PhD thesis genres, to the structure, aims and requirements of this PhD programme, and to the art of writing and publishing academic texts.
Research ethics, with attention both to the individual PhD projects and to key documents in the national and international research ethical discourses.
Information literacy, including training in the use of library resources and bibliographical management tools.
Exposure to VID’s profile and core values, with particular attention to its institutional education and research focus on the global ministry of the church and to encounters of religions and cultures in global contexts.
