VID Specialized University educates professionals and leaders to serve in the health and social sector, the education sector and the church by offering higher education, conducting research, development and innovation, and disseminate knowledge at a high international level within the fields of health and social sciences, pedagogy, culture and social sciences, management, diakonia and theology.
We have around 338 employees in academic positions and 91 PhD candidates in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Sandnes and Tromsø. Our researchers are engaged in topics like human rights, value-based leadership and volunteering, children and families in vulnerable situations, marginalization and reconciliation work.
