About VID
At VID Specialized University, we provide education and research in health, social sciences, community studies, management, diaconia, and theology. Currently, we offer about 60 study programmes across bachelor, master, and PhD levels. We're aiming to achieve university status by 2028.
VID Specialized University was established in 2016 after merging several colleges with histories going back to 1843. Today, with nearly 6,000 students and 600 employees, VID is one of Norway's largest private specialized universities. We have campuses in Oslo, Bergen, and Stavanger, and we also offer educational opportunities in Tromsø, Sandvika, and Sandnessjøen.
Through our programmes, we train knowledgeable, reflective, and courageous professionals. We have a strong research profile, particularly in practice-relevant studies, diversity, social inequality, and global Christianity. VID is committed to reducing social inequality, promoting community, and supporting individuals in vulnerable situations.
