Academic profile
Benedicte Nessa holds a BA in social work from the University of Stavanger and a MA in Global Studies from VID Stavanger. The results from her MA thesis, dealing with Nigerian migrants working in prostitution, was published in the journal Church and Culture (Nessa and Drønen, 2013). She has for the past few years been working at a local NGO with issues regarding exclusion in various forms. Benedicte is currently a PhD research fellow and her research focuses on the role of civil society in labor market integration of refugees. The PhD-project is part of a larger interdisciplinary research project on labor market integration of newly arrived refugees.
