Kari Storstein Haug

Academic profile

Haug primarily has her teaching and research experience from Thailand and Norway. In her research, she has done several fieldworks. Her research is concentrated on four main thematic areas. First, interreligious dialogue and hermeneutics with a particular focus on the use and interpretation of religious texts. Second, how Christian faith and practice is negotiated and take shape in their interaction with different religious and cultural contexts. Third, the importance of religion in migration processes, with particular emphasis on migration and theology. Fourth, religious education in the light of religious and cultural diversity. Haug has extensive teaching and supervision experience at Bachelor, Master and PhD level and is program manager for the PhD program in theology and religion. Together with Ingrid Løland, she leads the research group MIGREL (Migration, Religion and Intercultural Relations).
