Marianne Rodriguez Nygaard

Background

Marianne R. Nygaard teaches and researches in the fields of diakonia, pastoral care, psychology of religion, and health sciences. Her doctoral degree concerned deacons' professional knowledge and knowledge formation processes in the Church of Norway.

She developed an empirical model for deacons' work. In addition, she looked at the connections between how people are together and what kind of knowledge is formed. In ongoing research, she has a particular focus on people's healing experiences related to resources from Christian faith and practice. In addition, she works with the development of VID's subject areas within pastoral care and existential themes that affect health professional and diaconal challenges in society.
