“Jesus the African Healer: What Did African Students Teach Me about Contextual Theology?” is the topic of Professor Em. Halvor Moxnes' lecture. The lecture explores the mutual learning potential of intercultural supervision in the context of Biblical studies.

The presence of students from Africa has made Norwegian Biblical scholars and students aware that they are ‘placed’ in an extremely privileged position in a world with enormous differences. Upon graduation, these students have continued to do theology and to interpret Jesus in their contexts, on the margins. They have contributed to developing contextual theologies that include ever more contexts.
