Open lecture on Interdisciplinarity – possibilities and pitfalls

Welcome to open lecture with keynote speaker professor Mary Preston Sutphen from University of Oslo. The lecture takes place as part of a conference for PhD scholars at the Centre for Diaconia and Professional Practice (SDP).
The lecture on possibilities and pitfalls of interdisciplinarity is based on Sutphen’s more than three decades of teaching and research on the subject.
Sutphen leads a Research Council of Norway funded project entitled, Academic Hospitality in Interdisciplinary Education (AHIE), a project that studies collaboration in interdisciplinary education. The research in AHIE together with other projects she is involved in, investigate the experiences of students, administrators, university leaders, and academics engaging with teaching and learning in interdisciplinary programs.
