Research Ethics Forum

- The library, 2nd floor, Diakonveien 18, Oslo
- May 5th 2026, 14:00 – 15:30
In some research projects, the security of researchers or participants may be jeopardized. It is an ethical concern how we organize our research so that persons are not exposed to unreasonable risk. But what is unreasonable risk, and how do we weigh up risk and the overall benefits of producing new knowledge in the field? What things do we need to be particularly concerned about, and how can researchers be supported when undertaking such knowledge production?
Welcome to a research ethics forum where we have invited researchers with experiences with research projects where security has been challenged. We will first hear from them, then we will invite us all to a conversation about how to navigate ethical concerns around risk, and what support researchers need.
