Children and Adolescent Research on Parental Exposure (CARPE)
The objectives are to study children and adolescents that have been exposed to parental suicidal behavior, mental health problems, trauma, and adversity. We aim to understand the impact of these experiences in young and adult life.
The CARPE Project is one of the two appointed Excellence in Research projects at VID Specialized University 2023-2025.
The aim of the CARPE project
Childhood exposures of parental suicidal behavior, mental health problems, trauma, and adversity are linked to a variety of negative behavioural and health-related outcomes. The main aim is to study these experiences in order to understand the impact of young and adult life. Further we focus on factors that contribute to coping and growth.
