Erasmus+ is the EU's education program that has sent millions of students on exchange throughout Europe for more than 30 years. The aim of Erasmus+ is that you will have the opportunity to live in another country, learn a language, get to know another culture and gain international experience through exchange. VID has Erasmus+ agreements with a number of European countries, which you can find here.
Erasmus+ grant for study stay
If you go on exchange through the European Erasmus+ programme, you do not pay any tuition fees. You will also receive an additional grant. The scholarship rate depends on where you travel:
Finland, Sweden and Denmark: 460 EUR per month
Other countries: 410 EUR per month
The Erasmus+ grant is in addition to the basic support from Lånekassen and requires that VID has a valid Erasmus+ agreement with the host institution.
Erasmus+ internship grant
The Erasmus+ program provides support for internships abroad in EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Serbia, North Macedonia or Turkey. The rates for Erasmus+ internship grants depend on where you travel:
Finland, Sweden and Denmark: 610 EUR per month
Other countries: EUR 560 per month
Students with children
If you travel on an Erasmus+ study stay with minor children, you can receive an additional grant. Contact the unit of international affairs if this applies to you. The scholarship is the same regardless of the number of children.
Language course
If you go on exchange through the Erasmus+ programme, you will also be offered a free, online language course through OLS.
