About language of instruction and language proficiency
If you are a student at one of VID's international partner institutions and wish to have an exchange/study abroad period at VID, you should be aware that most programs and courses at VID are taught in Norwegian. Knowing Norwegian is necessary for admission to these courses. Danish and Swedish speaking applicants may request to have courses taught in Norwegian in their learning agreements.
VID recommends that exchange students choose learning possibilities in courses. However, placements are possible for a few students. A high level of English or Norwegian language proficiency is required for all placements, and we prefer language competence that is documented.
