Contact and help

Please feel free to contact us if you need help, have any questions, or want to give feedback.

Are you a student or staff member at VID? Then you can send us a message through the Service Portal:

It is also possible to contact one of the campus libraries in Bergen, Oslo or Stavanger. Anyone can send us an email at bibliotek@vid.no.

Guidance in literature searching

If you are working on a larger thesis or project, you can request a session for guidance on literature and information searching. The session lasts about 20 minutes. You can choose whether it should be conducted digitally or physically at the library.

Guidance is open to students on master and continuing education level at VID. The campus libraries in Bergen and Stavanger also offer guidance for bachelor students in connection with the bachelor thesis.

NB! We expect that you have had your research topic approved and that you have attempted searches in subject databases beforehand. In the request form, you will be asked about which sources and databases you have checked, and what search terms you have used.

Literature searches for staff members and PhD students

The library offers support to all staff and PhD candidates working with literature searches. These searches are typically conducted in preparation of research articles, systematic reviews, or research funding applications. Read more about the service and send a request on the page Literature searches.

Courses

The library offers courses to staff members and students at VID. For example, we have courses in searching, academic writing, and the use of reference management tools (EndNote and Zotero).
