Researchers at VID Specialized University have played a central role in a brand new handbook on emotions and values in organizations.

This handbook is the first of its kind to systematically examine how emotions and values interact within organizational and leadership contexts. It contains 26 chapters written by 48 scholars from across the globe.

The chapters present groundbreaking research and extensive theoretical perspectives on how emotions and values influence institutional processes, organizational dynamics, leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and more.

A unique book project

Lead editor Gry Espedal describes the work as both challenging and deeply rewarding:

"This work has been both exciting and intellectually enriching. It has expanded our field of values-based leadership to also include emotions – something few others have explored before. In this way, the project is truly unique. Our collective work sheds new light on how these fundamental forces both shape and are shaped by institutions in times of global uncertainty and change. I am proud of what we have achieved and eager to share these insights with a broader academic and practice-oriented audience".

The editorial team also includes Professor Emeritus Douglas Creed (University of Rhode Island, USA), Associate Professor Jose Bento da Silva (Warwick Business School, UK), and Associate Professor Trish Ruebottom (DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, Canada).
