The allocation of funds for Erasmus+ Global Mobility has now been announced by HK-dir. VID has received funding for mobility cooperation with six countries outside Europe: Australia, Madagascar, Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Thailand.
With almost NOK 3.8 million, this year's award in the Global Mobility category is by a good margin the largest award VID has received since 2015 when the Global Mobility initiative in the Erasmus+ program was launched. Nationally, only the University of Stavanger has received a larger allocation in 2023. This provides good opportunities for VID's professional environment to build long-term partner relationships and develop networks for mutual benefit and enjoyment.
It is also gratifying for the partners, who through VID now have a strengthened opportunity to collaborate with Norwegian higher education. The partners get the opportunity to send students to VID's English-language study offer for one or two semesters, an opportunity that many would not otherwise have had. The opportunity applies to both bachelor's, master’s, and PhD students, where relevant.
The partners in the collaboration are Thammasat University (Thailand), The University of Queensland (Australia), University of the Western Cape (South Africa), University of Malawi (Malawi), Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone (Sierra Leone), as well as Ecole Supérieure Spécialisée du Vakinankaratra, and Université Adventiste Zurche, both in Madagascar.
