Continuing education in Minority competence in child protection (VUMIBARN)
Work with children and families with a different background to the majority population has become a large part of the national child welfare work. In this education program, you learn how someone employed in child protection can strengthen their competence in meeting children and families with a minority background.

About the project
The education program is primarily aimed at employees in the municipal child welfare services throughout the country. The education is a collaboration between the Center for Intercultural Communication (SIK) and the program area for culture and religious studies (KURV) at VID Stavanger and the Faculty of Social Studies at VID Oslo.
In this study, you must critically assess and further develop your own knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The focus will be on how processes related to migration, culture and diversity affect both the living situation of minorities and the actual interaction between minorities and child protection. The goal is to be able to assess and apply different perspectives, theories and knowledge-based methods that promote equality in public services.
