The project aims to improve everyday digital teaching, make employees confident in the use of digital tools in teaching and learning work and develop robust teachers who are prepared for further digitization of the sector. By promoting digital well-being, the project wants to contribute to teachers enjoying digital challenges in their everyday working life, and that they see digitization more as a resource than something negative.
The project, which started in February 2022, has a duration of 3 years. In the first phase, we will carry out a quantitative survey which examines which factors affect the digital well-being of the teachers at the institutions involved. We will also carry out a parallel survey aimed at students to investigate their perception of good digital teaching. This is followed by the development of a workbook for mentors, a guide to digital well-being for teachers and an accompanying e-learning course.
The mentoring program
In order to reach as many teachers as possible, we will develop a mentoring programme. Each institution selects three mentors who will participate in a training program at DIAK in Finland in the spring of 2023. The participants will, among other things, receive training in how to be mentors and carry out peer guidance for their colleagues. These will again be challenged to be mentors and guide other colleagues. SLIPP will carry out an application process for this program in autumn 2022.
