About the project
The project will explore conflict management practices among immigrant couples in Norway, with a particular focus on conflict management faciliated by the Norwegian Family Counselling Services (NFCS). The project seeks to answer the following main research question:
How is good management of relationship conflicts among immigrant couples conceptualised, explained, and practiced by therapists and users of the Norwegian Family Counselling Services (NFCS)?
The project will take the form of a case study of conflict management practice, collecting data through:
- Interviews with professionals within the Norwegian Family Counselling Services (NFCS)
- Following over time immigrant couples engaging in conflict management through the NFCS, doing interviews and recording conflict management sessions at the NFCS
- Interviews with immigrant couples who have previously engaged in conflict management through the NFCS
