About the project
This study's primary aim is to develop knowledge about depression and the importance of shame for people diagnosed with depression.
The thesis seeks answers to the following research questions:
- How is it to live with depression? (Subset 1)
- What significance does the feeling of shame have for people with depression? (Subset 2)
- What is the existential about? (Subset 3)
In subset 1 we chose classical Grounded Theory method. A theory is developed and an article is written. Title: Risking existence: the experience and handling of depression.
In subset 2 we want to examine the phenomenon of shame as it is expressed in the data and will use a phenomenological approach and analysis. The analysis will culminate in an article.
The last article is scheduled to be theoretical and discuss what the existential is about
