Work Packages

WP1: Mental Health

There is little research in general in spirituality in mental health, and even less research brining patients’ voices to the table. In WP1 we have established a network in Western Norway for spiritual care in mental health.

In WP1 we will collaborate with Mental Health practices, using the film Simon and God to encourage dialogue among health care professionals about how spiritual care and faith can be integrated into mental health in a safe way.

WP2: Older Care

PhD candidate will build on the research from SEP-1, WP3 and develop educational material in spiritual care for nursing home staff.

WP3: Improving quality in spiritual care education

PhD project at SPD by Joanne Lassche-Scheffer, with finding from Viaa, The Netherlands to investigate how implementation of the EPICC Self-assessment Tool i bachelor's in nursing education at Viaa.

Developing preceptors’ skills in supervising 1st years nursing students in spiritual care in nursing homes.

International collaboration to strengthen spiritual care in education. We have a active collaboration with Benson Owusu at Central University in Ghana and Silvia Caldeira, at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Portugal.

WP4: Continuing Professional Development (CDP) in nursing

Development of Continuing Professional Development Programme in UK.
Collaboration with Professor Linda Ross University of South Wales who has received funding for herself and Professor Wilfred McSherry Staffordshire University, to develop and test a CPE programme comprising of 6 modules.

WP5: Translation and testing of EPICC materials into French for global use

SEP2 will work on translation and testing of the EPICC Tool in French.
