Ecotheology, Sustainability and education (EcoSE)

The group explores the relationship between theology, church, religion and the environment, nature and sustainability. We work interdisciplinary and include both empirical approaches, more theoretical and hermeneutic methods, and action research.

What are we doing research on?

Members of ØkoBU/EcoSE conduct research both on texts, practices, organisations, on religion as a social actor in sustainability discourses in the broadest sense. The primary framework is Ecotheology understood as an open, interdisciplinary and transformative understanding at the intersection between theory and practice. Research is conducted on topics such as systematic theology, Bible interpretation, diaconia, church practice, church dissemination/teaching, cosmologies, various religious traditions and the green shift.
