Publishing a VID report

Dissemination is an important part of VID's societal mission.

The university's report series aims to create dialogue with the public, the practical field, and society. In addition, the dissemination should help apply R&D results in practice.

How to publish

Author guidelines

  1. Research and experimental (pedagogical) development work shall be conducted in accordance with scientific integrity, the Vancouver recommendations, and academic freedom.
  2. The first author or corresponding author informs the vice-dean for research at the faculty or the center director at SDP about the work on the project report.
  3. The first author or corresponding author sends the final draft of the report for approval to the faculty's vice-dean for research or the center director at SDP.
  4. VID has a policy that the reports included in the publication series are published openly and digitally. All reports receive a CC license in accordance with Plan S.
  5. If the report is to be printed, the project or the author must have allocated their own funds for this.
  6. A specific Word template has been developed for use in the series (see Templates below).
  7. The author is responsible for filling in the fields for title, author, any funders, keywords, and summary in Norwegian and English.
  8. The university recommends the APA standard for citing sources.
  9. If the report contains images, illustrations, or tables covered by copyright, these may need to be rights-cleared by the author(s).
  10. Manuscripts should be submitted fully proofread to isbn@vid.no. The library provides the cover, ISBN, and number in the report series. Note that neither the library nor the Division for Communication and Public Relations (KoM) have the capacity for proofreading, translation, or changes to the manuscript.
  11. Register and upload the report in Cristin.
  12. If you plan to publish further data from the project, you must contact the journal's editor to determine if the new manuscript will be considered a duplicate or secondary publication.
