By using the Diploma Registry, you can collect your results from higher education in Norway and share them with potential employers, educational institutions and other relevant recipients. The Diploma Supplement is an international document provided with a diploma to give a detailed description of the qualifications attained by a candidate.

All graduates from VID will automatically and free of charge receive a Diploma, and a Diploma Supplement upon graduation. The Diploma Supplement is issued in English, and provides a description of the programme of study and the degree that has been awarded to the student. The purpose of the Diploma Supplement is to create transparency in higher education and facilitate academic recognition for further studies.

Students who wish to improve their grades can postpone issue of the diploma/certificate for up to one year. Application must be received by the university college within 3 weeks after the announcement of grades. Send an email to studentservice@vid.no. If you don't use your right to postpone the issuing of your diploma, and you later on improve some of your grades included in your degree, a transcript will be issued to confirm your improvement(s).

If you improve your mark, the best mark will be printed on your degree certificate. You can ask for a deferred certificate if you wish to improve one or more marks after completing your study programme. However, please note that the certificate will display a note to say that you have improved a mark. This applies only if you improve a mark after attaining a degree, and the original mark will not be displayed on the degree certificate. If you have already received your certificate, you will receive a transcript.

If you have completed a Bachelor of Nursing, you need to have your diploma in order to be able to apply for authorisation. You can read more about this here.

Students who have a postponement are responsible for ordering their diploma after receiving the examination results. Diplomas can be ordered studentservice@vid.no.

If you should find errors or omissions in your diploma, please contact studentservice@vid.no.

If your diploma was permanently lost or destroyed a replacement/duplicate diploma can be issued, for a fee of NOK 700. A replacement/duplicate diploma will be issued when the fee has been received. If you need a replacement/duplicate, please e-mail studentservice@vid.no.

Recognized courses in a diploma will not be shown with a grade, but as "Recognized".
