In many of VID's services you will be asked to log in with Feide. Feide stands for Joint Electronic Identity and is the Ministry of Education's chosen solution for secure identification in the education sector.

Create Feide Account
Find your student numbers and pin-code that has been sent to you from VID. If you have not received it, please contact The Section of International Affairs
Proceed with the following steps:
- Click on the link to Passordweb, link below.
- Choose English language.
- Choose Student.
- Choose Enable account/Forgot password.
- Fill in your student number, personal identification number (or d-number), and pin-code.
- Press Validate.
- Create a password. NB! You must create a password that contains both uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and a character such as?! &%
- After checking out that you have read the IT Rules and Evacuation Instructions, press OK.
- A message on the page will inform you that your password is enabled.
- Wait 90 minutes before signing on to Feide after creating Feide account. If you attemt to log in before 90 minutes your account will be locked, and you have to do everything all over again. Take good care of the password you created for your Feide-account. You will use it often!
Go to Passordweb to create a Feide account.

Feide is a solution for safe identification within the education sector. Feide is used by staff and students at VID to log in and get access to VIDs digital services, for example Canvas.

- Hvorfor får jeg feilmelding?
Feilmeldinger, f.eks. "finner ikke student", kan skyldes at du bruker en nettleser som er for gammel . Prøv å oppdatere din nåværende nettleser eller last ned Google Chrome. Safari fungerer ikke bra med våre systemer. Sjekk også at alle opplysninger som du har skrevet inn er korrekte. Mobile enheter, for eksempel iPhone med Safari, får noen ganger problemer. Prøv derfor på nytt med PC/Mac tilknyttet trådløst nettverk.
De vanligste årsaker til feilmelding ved pålogging med Feide er:
- Du har ikke opprettet Feide-bruker i Passordweb – gå til Passordweb
- Du har ikke ventet 90 minutter før du logget på – tilbakestill passordet i Passordweb
- Du har feil tilhørighet i påloggingsvinduet. Din tilhørighet må være VID vitenskapelig høgskole
- I have forgotten my Feide password. How can I get a new one?
You can create a new password for your Feide account at Passordweb.
Wait 90 minutes before signing on to Feide after creating a new password. If you attemt to log in before 90 minutes your account will be locked, and you have to do everything all over again.
- I have created a new password for my Feide account, but do still not get access to my Feide account. What do I do?
When you create a new Feide password you have to wait 90 minutes for the server to get syncronized.
If you still can not get in after 90 minutes, contact Helpdesk at helpdesk@vid.no.
- My Feide account is locked. What do I do?
Try to create a new password for your Feide account at Passordweb.
