Completing the course will give the students the following learning outcome, sectioned into knowledge, skills and general competence:

• Has a good overview of central migration theories and migration related concepts

• Has in-depth knowledge of how globalization and migration processes de- territorializes religion

• Has thorough understanding of challenges and contributions of religious communities in different integration processes

• Has solid knowledge of different theological approaches and perspectives on migration

Skills

The student

• Can discuss and challenge central migration theories and concepts

• Can critically discuss and evaluate theologies om migration

• Can critically discuss how religion is a part of general transnational processes

• Can analyse the role of religious communities in the interactions between migrant and “host” communities

General Competence

The student

• Can identify relevant research problems in the field of migration and religion, and plan and carry out research with scholarly integrity

• Can communicate research and participate in national and international debates on topics related to migration and religion

• Can on the basis of relevant research on transnational religion formulate, plan and carry out research on transnational religious communities

• Can develop projects on, and in cooperation with, religious communities in the processes of migration, interaction and integration
