PHD-TR 908 Themes and Methods in World Christianity Studies

The course is designed to familiarise students with different approaches and themes to study World Christianity. The study of World Christianity focuses on the interplay between the Christian faith and other historical and contemporary realities, including other religions and social, cultural, and political realities.

Admission requirements

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD program.
  • PhD students at VID must register for the course in Studentweb.
  • PhD students from other institutions must apply by clicking on the button «application» below.
  • PhD students from other institutions must submit written documentation of their enrollment together with the application.

The course is hybrid. It is open the students who wish to participate digitally and students who wish to gather at campus Stavanger.

Teaching and compulsory activities

The course is offered as an intensive course week with three days of lectures and seminars.

Compulsory activity:

  • Student presentation of specific cases on World Christianity
  • Responding to cases as presented
