Faculty of Social Studies is located at VID Oslo where two main programme themes are available: Social Work and Family Therapy and Systemic Practice. The faculty staff comprises 45 persons for the approximately 800 students enrolled in the 10 programmes of study.

The academic staff comprises dedicated teachers and supervisors who are also engaged in research- and development in their various disciplines. The various programmes are closely integrated with the field of practice and there is a continuous effort to improve and expand the profile and competence of the university.
Faculty of Social Studies offers bachelor and master degree programmes in social work and a master degree programme in family therapy and systemic practice in addition to several continuing education programmes, all of which are integrated and coordinated with the faculty's master degree programmes. Continuing education in family therapy is also offered at VID Sandnes.
