During this course, you want to develop knowledge and understanding of what it means to use participatory action research (PAR) as a research approach in health to drive sustainable development in contemporary health practices within existing organizations and societies.
PAR is a dynamic approach that, through the involvement of facilitators, practitioners, caregivers, care users, and decision-makers, usually directly and immediately influence the research context by taking the participants' everyday life or practice as a starting point. PAR in health addresses practical issues in improvement and development based on understanding a social context and involving participants based on their conditions. Using PAR enables the exploration of areas that need improvement in practice and promotes the collaborative development of all involved.
