PHD-TR 904 Discipline/Thesis Related Course
The course gives the students an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of themes, theories and methods particular and relevant to their discipline and/or thesis.
The course gives the students an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of themes, theories and methods particular and relevant to their discipline and/or thesis.
The course is geared to specific concerns of the student’s research topic and/or discipline. Reading list and topics are developed by the supervisor(s) together with the student, and assessed by the programme coordinator.
Main Subjects:
- General aspects of the discipline: sources and research history.
- Themes and perspectives particular to the thesis topic: research situation, and methodological/ hermeneutical challenges and concerns.
- Theories of particular importance to the discipline and/or thesis.
Asessment
Oral examination or essay of 3000 words (+/- 10%). The time and place of the oral examination is agreed upon individually.
