Background

Is a trained nurse with a minor (1 year) degree in psychology, a minor (1,5 years) in pedagogy and a major in nursing science. PhD in nursing science from University of Bergen in 2008. Professor of nursing since 2016.

The research field is predominantly related to spiritual care in relation to nursing practice and education.

Leads the excellent research network in VID Spiritual Care Education and Practice Development (SEP www.spiritualcare.no ) and the research group SPIRCARE with members from VID, Scandinavia and many other countries.

Is a member of EPICC www.epicc-network.org

Leads i-SEP which is a HKDir collaborative project between VID and Azusa Pacific University, CA.

Leads Global Mobility (2020 – 2026) between VID Bergen and nursing education at the University of Sierra Leone, Freetown. The collaboration has resulted in the first book on fundamental nursing written for an African country (Fundamentals of Nursing in the Context of Sierra Leone).
