Welcome to the book launch of Inger Marie Lid's new book. "Recognising disability in higher education: A human rights perspective".

The book "Recognising disability in higher education. A human rights perspective" discusses strategies and dilemmas when  implementing universal design and individual accommodation in higher education contexts in order to facilitate for diversity among students, faculty members and staff.

Based on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), this book demonstrates how to facilitate equal access to higher education and raise awareness of disability as a human condition and an aspect of diversity in higher education.

With chapters covering implementation of the UN CRPD, ableism, recognition theory, disability models, universal design, and individual accommodation, the book focuses on the institutional perspective – what are the universities’ responsibilities and how can the governments, universities and teachers follow up on their responsibilities by practising inclusive policies, pedagogies and campuses.
