Ecotheology, Sustainability and Education (ØkoBu)
The group explores the relationship between theology, church, religion, and the environment, nature, and sustainability. The group works interdisciplinary and includes both empirical approaches, more theoretical and hermeneutical methods, and action research.
What are we researching?
Members of ØkoBU/ EcoSE conduct research on texts, practices, organizations, and religion as a social actor in sustainability discourses in a broad sense. The primary framework for Ecotheology is understood as an open, interdisciplinary, and transformative understanding at the intersection of theory and practice. Research is conducted on topics such as systematic theology, biblical interpretation, diakonia, church practice, church communication/teaching, cosmologies, various religious traditions, and the green transition.
