Centre for the Study of World Christianity and Religion
The Centre for the Study of World Christianity and Religion is located at VID Stavanger and has a vision to equip leaders, researchers and institutions in church and society with a deeper understanding of local and global processes that are currently transforming Christian mission and global religious practices.
The centre for mission and global studies aims to nurture critical and engaged research on global Christian ministry and the changing role of religion in global society. It is the academic home of the PhD program in Theology and Religious Studies program and cooperates with the PhD program in Diaconia, Values and Professional as well as globally oriented M.A. programs at VID.
The centre has particular focus on the formation of Christian leaders and academic staff in the global church and providing scholarships to future leaders in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Also it is a hub within VID on questions related to research on migration, transnationalism, and intercultural competence.
