About the project

How is calling a source of identity among pastors in The Church of Norway?

The research project will start with a base in systematic theology on calling, ministry and priesthood. Then a qualitative dive into the mysteries of calling among pastors in The Church of Norway, by individual interviews. How do they navigate their calling (if they have one) in a modern employee-situation? How does calling infect their identity as pastors, in their introspective thinking, coworking with other employees and among church members?

The study will seek answers to the ongoing recruiting crisis in the church and give important insights to the leadership debate in the church.
