SDP-lecture: Marching Minds - Youth Movements, Academic Solidarity, and the Fight for Democracy in Serbia

- VID Library, Campus Oslo, Diakonveien 18, 1st floor.
- 17. juni 2025, 14:30 – 16:00
The event will also be streamed. Zoom-link will be provided.
The lecture explores the pivotal role of student movements and academic solidarity in driving societal change in Serbia. The tragic collapse of a canopy, caused by corruption and resulting in the deaths of 16 people, sparked widespread protests that, over the past six months, have evolved into a widespread social uprising.
Led by youth and supported by university workers, these movements mobilized broad segments of society, becoming a powerful force in demanding justice, accountability, and a renewed fight for democratic values.
