In particular, research on dementia activism suggests that those living with this terminal, progressive neurological condition have much to rally against temporally, neurologically and socially. Not least, speaking out about the challenges and injustices one faces, when others see and treat you as ‘incapable’. There is a clear need for establishing a more balanced understanding of life with dementia. Moreover, the onus is on us as researchers, to use more innovative ways of gathering such information, by for example: engaging with the arts, walking with people, and using the very latest digital technologies, in a responsible and robust way.
