PHD-TR 901 Start-up, Research Ethics, programme profile

The course introduces the PhD student to what it means to do a PhD in theology and religious studies in the context of VID Specialized University.

The course has the following focus areas:

Introduction to the PhD thesis genres, to the structure, aims and requirements of this PhD programme, and to the art of writing and publishing academic texts.
Research ethics, with attention both to the individual PhD projects and to key documents in the national and international research ethical discourses.
Information literacy, including training in the use of library resources and bibliographical management tools.
Introduction to the PhD programme’s profile.

Teaching and compulsory activities

The course is offered as an intensive course week with with 3 days of lectures and seminars. Students are required to submit both pre-coursework and post-coursework.
