The Citizen’s Project - Everyday Citizenship for Persons in Vulnerable Situations (CitPro)

The CitPro Project is one of five appointed Excellence in Research projects at VID Specialized University 2020-2026.

Our vision is to provide a rich source of knowledge to inform the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in education and practice.

The overall objective is that CitPro evolves into Norway’s Centre of Excellence for collaborative disability research on everyday citizenship.

CitPro moved into its second phase of evolution in March 2024.

The CitPro Aims

  1. Develop capacity within VID to conduct internationally-orientated research related to the everyday citizenship of persons with disabilities, including persons with dementia.
  2. Enhance students’ understanding of everyday citizenship in the context of disability.
  3. Create opportunities to advance and share knowledge of everyday citizenship for persons in vulnerable situations, in collaboration with community partners.
  4. Build collaborations with community partners to develop ethical and inclusive research practices.
