Diaconal practices and perspectives (DIAPP)

The Diaconal Practices and Perspectives (DIAPP) research group aims to strengthen research on diaconia or diaconal science as a research area at VID and in a Norwegian/Nordic context.

What are we researching?

Diaconal studies can be described as studies of practices by diaconal actors or other actors engaged in welfare, health, care, or education in light of diaconal and other theoretical frameworks from the humanities and social sciences. DIAPP's members conduct both basic and applied research within the diaconal field, by bringing together practice-related research and theoretical reflections on diaconia. DIAPP is an interdisciplinary platform where researchers with different disciplinary backgrounds and from different research areas can develop the diaconal science research field.
