About the project
The primary objective of this PhD thesis is to investigate the role of religion in the lives of Thai migrant women in Norway as part of the wider THAIMIG project at VID. Through qualitative semi-structured interviews, visits to Thai Buddhist temples, and focus group interviews with temple monks I plan to explore if and how the migrant experience influences Thai women’s involvement in the Thai Buddhist temple, as well as how such involvement impacts their values, priorities and sense of belonging.
