Diaconal Community Development (CODE)

Seeing people as an important resource in transformation processes, we focus on asset- and rightbased community development within church and nongovernmental organizations through critical theories and methods such as mapping, advocacy, motivation, and empowerment.

Hva forsker vi på?

CODE is a research group focusing on community development practices in communities and civil society in different global contexts. CODE is an interdisciplinary research group of researchers from different faculties and centres at VID, especially linked to the field of diaconal studies and research on faith-based actors. CODE also has a broad international network including collaboration with faculties in the Czech Republic, Ethiopia, Finland, Madagascar, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
