Ambo er en by med underkant av 100.000 innbyggere, plassert sentralt i Etiopia. Ambo er et flott utgangspunkt for en utflukt til Wenchi Crater Lake. Wenchi Crater Lake er en utdødd vulkan (toppen av den er 3380 moh.) Krateret inneholder en stor innsjø, varme kilder, fosser og vakre daler og jordbruksland. Det er et gammelt kloster med en kirke som ligger på en av innsjøøyene.

Praksisstudier Heltid og Deltid

2nd year and 3rd year nursing students from VID Specialized University will be assigned to St. Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College SPHMMC in Addis Ababa (Ambo University’s local collaborator) with students of the same batch from Ethiopia and expected to participate in group work and detailed discussions from the two sides.

The 2nd year nursing students will be assigned to theoretical lectures and clinical internships in four inpatient departments of the hospital and five(5) weeks of community nursing practice(door-to-door visits). The 3rd year nursing students will be assigned to community health (door-to-door visits) and health stations (health administration). A clinical mentor and supervisor during the door-to-door and health station visits will be assigned from SPHMMC, and Ambo University will assign a lecturer for the theory class. In addition, supervisors from Ambo University visit the students weekly at SPHMMC and are expected to submit weekly written feedback/reports for any challenges and best performances to the CED and the project leaders with copies to the collaborative VID and SPHMMC.
